Angela Franco, the president and CEO of the D.C. Chamber of Commerce, has expressed reservations in regards to the proposal that the Washington Wizards and Washington Capitals will relocate from the District’s Gallery Place-Chinatown neighborhood to Potomac Yards in Alexandria, Virginia.
“On behalf of all our members, we be part of Mayor Bowser in our disappointment on the obvious resolution by Monumental Sports activities to maneuver two of the District’s most outstanding main league sports activities franchises out of the District,” Franco stated.
The CEO of the D.C. Chamber of Commerce emphasised that the relocation would drastically have an effect on downtown companies.
“We stay dedicated to working with the mayor, the D.C. Council, and its newly created process drive targeted on the revitalization of the Gallery Place-Chinatown neighborhood along with supporting the mayor in all her downtown revitalization efforts. I’m longing for the way forward for D.C. Ours is a superb metropolis worthy of collaborative efforts by public officers, enterprise representatives, neighborhood activists and others to reshape our future. Working collectively, we are going to proceed to strengthen this unbelievable metropolis we love.”
